Tennessee Jump$tart is a non-profit organization comprised of approximately 50 individuals and organizations representing business, government and education who have joined together to improve the personal financial literacy of Tennessee’s youth.

Educator Ambassador Program

for Tennessee educators teaching Grades K-12 or in the community!

The previous Finance in a Minute competition is now our Educator Ambassador Program!

This program is designed to grow Tennessee Jump$tart’s presence in the K-12 space, promote additional content knowledge, and increase awareness and attendance in Tennessee Jump$tart professional development offerings.

Our inaugural ambassador class was introduced at the 22nd Annual Personal Finance Educator’s Conference in June!

Requirements

  • Current classroom educator (K-12, corrections, etc.)

  • Must have attended at least 2 Tennessee Jump$tart Conferences

  • Apply (in the upcoming year) for Tennessee Jump$tart Educator of the Year or have been a previous Tennessee Jump$tart Educator of the Year

  • Broad content and curriculum knowledge to be represented while serving as an Ambassador

  • Meet goals established by Ambassador team

  • 2-year commitment (may serve multiple terms)

  • Attend annual Ambassador planning session at the Tennessee Jump$tart Conference

Ambassador Activities

  • Serve in an advisory capacity on education-related topics and trends.

  • Recruit educators to participate in conference, webinars, and educator awards program.

  • Present about personal finance topics at in-services and conferences and include info about Tennessee Jump$tart and Tennessee Jump$tart programs as part of presentation.

  • Work with TN J$ Board members on community facing activities and presentations.

  • Create social media content such as teaching tips, best practices, PF education journey, etc.

  • Serve as a spokesperson about financial literacy and Tennessee Jump$tart.

  • Assess expertise for personal finance content areas.

  • Serve on TN J$ sponsored webinar panel related to Financial Literacy Month.

  • Engage with the National Jump$tart Teen Teach-In program.
